The superhero genre has always been a misnomer. Yes, there are common tropes involving characters in tights fighting against evildoers, but outside of that basic parameter we have seen such radical differences. From western tropes in Logan to the spy thrills of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, there are many facets the genre can explore.
