Batman’s role in Suicide Squad revealed?

June 2, 2015 by admin

The Internet was pretty stunned last week when set photos and videos revealed that Ben Affleck’s Batman would appear in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad in a showdown with The Joker and Harley Quinn. Now, some new rumours have come out about his actual role in the movie.

Beware, there could be spoilers below:

According to El Mayimbe of Heroic Hollywood, The Dark Knight will have a conversation with Amanda Waller about putting together in the Suicide Squad in true Batman-fashion:

“In short, he goes and pays Amanda Waller a visit. Batman BREAKS into her massive security prison. In fact…he’s already inside Amanda Waller’s office waiting for her in the shadows when she appears. The guards are clueless. Batman has a bone to pick with Waller. You see Batman is totally against the concept behind the Suicide Squad, in fact he warns Waller that he will hold her personally responsible for any innocents The Joker & the rest of the Suicide Squad kill. A warning so stern that he has to visit Waller personally to deliver the message.”

It should be noted, however, that El Mayimbe claimed a few months ago that Batman would not even be in the movie – so, one would have to assume his sources are a little off these days. And that’s not even taking into account his huge misfires on Avengers: Age of Ultron!

Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 5th, 2016, with David Ayer (Fury) directing a cast that includes Will Smith (Focus) as Deadshot, Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club) as The Joker, Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street) as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney (Terminator Genisys) as Captain Boomerang, Joel Kinnaman (RoboCop) as Rick Flagg, Viola Davis (How to get Away with Murder) as Amanda Waller, Cara Delevingne (Paper Towns) as Enchantress, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Thor: The Dark World) as Killer Croc, Ray Olubowale (Resident Evil: Afterlife) as King Shark, Jay Hernandez (Hostel) as El Diablo, Adam Beach (Flags of our Fathers) as Slipknot, Jim Parrack (Fury) as Johnny Frost, Ike Barinholtz (The Mindy Project) as Hugo Strange, newcomer Karen Fukuhara as Katana, and Common (Selma) and Scott Eastwood (The Longest Ride) and in as-yet-unconfirmed roles.
