Rumour: Bryan Singer wanted for Fantastic Four sequel

July 7, 2015 by Gary Collinson

From the moment 20th Century Fox announced its reboot of the Fantastic Four, there’s been speculation that the studio will look to combine Marvel’s First Family with its X-Men universe – most recently just last week, when it was rumoured that the crossover is being eyed for a 2018 release.

Well, if This Is Infamous is to be believed, Fox is looking to pave the way for the crossover by bringing in Bryan Singer to pick up the reins from Josh Trank as director of Fantastic Four 2 (which has already been given a June 2017 release date) with a view to him then directing the big team-up.

While Singer would seem like the obvious choice to direct an X-Men/Fantastic Four movie, the director still has X-Men: Apocalypse to finish ahead of its release in May of next year, so if there is any truth to this report, he’d certainly be working on a very tight schedule, especially if he’d also need to prep the crossover for the following year.

Would you like to see Bryan Singer directing Fantastic Four 2, or is it too early to be talking about a sequel with the first movie yet to even open? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
