Star Trek: Bridge Crew welcomes the arrival of The Next Generation this month

May 9, 2018 by Andrew Newton

Set phasers on stun and prepare to beam up the landing party as Ubisoft announce The Next Generation, the new expansion for Star Trek: Bridge Crew, will be available for PlayStation VR and PlayStation 4 on 22nd May.  Rift, Vive and PC players will be able to board the Enterprise D on 21st July.  This latest expansion will see players continue their voyage aboard the Galaxy Class starship, the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D from Star Trek: The Next Generation.

The Next Generation expansion will offer two additional mission types, Patrol and Resistance.  The new Patrol mode will see players board either the U.S.S. Aegis, U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 or the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D and free roam the quadrant tackling random objectives and facing off against random encounters.  Resistance will seem pretty futile with the Resistance mode as players will take on the most iconic enemy in the Trek universe, The Borg.  In this mode players will be required to complete a set of objectives whilst also evading the Borg.

In the Ongoing Missions mode the Borg will not be the only new race introduced with the intention of destroying the Federation, players will also have their combat skills tested by the duplicitous, sly, cunning Romulans and their cloaked vessels.

The U.S.S. Enterprise NCC 1701-D will also introduce a new command role called ‘Operations’.  This role will focus on Crew Management and allow players to assign the correct NPC teams to each location on the ship.

The Next Generation expansion arrives on Star Trek: Bridge Crew for the Playstation 4 and PS VR this May.
