Liam Neeson in talks for Men in Black reboot

May 23, 2018 by Ricky Church

It looks like the Men in Black reboot may have found its new leader. Variety reports Liam Neeson (Taken) has begun talks to join Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson in the new film.

If negotiations are successful, Neeson will portray the head of the U.K. branch of the MIB organization. Audiences have previously seen Rip Torn (Dodgeball) as Zed in the first two Men in Black films while Emma Thompson (The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle) was the new leader, Oh, in the third film.

A recent rumour of the reboot’s plot suggests Tessa Thompson, who is re-teaming with her Thor: Ragnarok co-star Chris Hemsworth, will play a fresh recruit to the London MIB branch and partnering with Hemsworth’s former ace agent on a worldwide mystery.

The new Men in Black is set for release on May 17th 2019 and will “acknowledge and build on the world” of the first three movies, though neither Will Smith or Tommy Lee Jones are expected to make an appearance.
