It: Chapter Two casts Jay Ryan as Ben Hanscom

May 23, 2018 by Ricky Church

It: Chapter Two has just secured another member of The Loser’s Club for the hotly-anticipated sequel. According to Deadline, Jay Ryan (Top of the Lake) has been cast as the adult Ben Hanscom for the film.

Ben, portrayed by Jeremy Ray Taylor in the first film, has undergone a lot of change as an adult. Before being called back to Derry, Ben lost much of his weight and in Stephen King’s novel became a successful architec living in Nebraska.

Ryan joins a cast that includes Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy and Bill Hader as Beverly, Bill and Richie while James Ransone will play Eddie and Andy Bean as Stanley. That leaves Mike Hanlon as the only remaining Loser to be cast.

It: Chapter Two will see Bill Skarsgard reprising his role as Pennywise the Dancing Clown, while Jaeden Lieberher, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Wyatt Oleff and Chosen Jacobs are also expected to reprise their roles from the first movie in flashback sequences. Director Andy Muschietti is returning to helm the second chapter.

It: Chapter Two will be released September 6th, 2019.
