Lucasfilm’s Solo: A Star Wars Story may have tanked at the box office with a worldwide opening of just $148 million, but Disney does have something to celebrate this weekend as Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War has reached another box office milestone.
The Marvel superhero blockbuster added a further $49 million globally this weekend ($16.5 million domestic and $32.5 million internationally) to take its total gross to $1.905 billion.
Infinity War remains the fourth-highest grossing movie of all time behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($2.068 billion), Titanic ($2.188 billion) and Avatar ($2.788 billion) and at this point, it should well go on to join those releases in the $2 billion club.
