Having wrapped production on Warner Bros. and DC Films’ superhero blockbuster Shazam!, Zachary Levi is returning to the small screen for a recurring role in the second season of Amazon Studios’ The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
THR reports that Levi will play an eclectic Manhattan doctor who suddenly starts orbiting the Weissman/Maisel world, although further details about his character are being kept under wraps.
The Golden Globe-winning period comedy-drama stars Rachel Brosnahan as a 1950s housewife in New York who discovers she has a knack for stand-up comedy. It was original picked up for two seasons, the second of which is expected to arrive later in the year, while Amazon announced just last week that it has already renewed the show for a third season.
Levi will next be seen in the zombie comedy Office Uprising, which is slated for release this July on Crackle, while DC Films’ Shazam! will open in April 2019.
