Two new Pokemon RPGs coming to the Nintendo Switch

May 30, 2018 by Andrew Newton

Great news for Pokémon fans as the popular franchise will be expanding its world to the Nintendo Switch this November with two brand new RPGs, Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!  Both games will take the traditional style of Pokémon RPGs and combine them with the big screen appeal of the Switch.

The Pokémon: Let’s Go games draw their inspiration from the original Pokémon games from the days of the Gameboy and will take players back to the Kanto region and the home to the original 151 Pokémon and just like in the classic Pokémon Yellow version Pikachu or Eevee just don’t want to go in their ball.

As with the original games, players will set out on their Pokémon journey catching as many creatures as they can find and battling others, there will even be the ability to transfer Pokémon captured in Pokémon Go into the new games.  Catching Pokémon will involve players flicking the Joy-Con controllers at the screen in a similar fashion to how it works in Go.

“I wanted to bring the fun of this more intuitive, as well as widely accepted and popular, Pokémon-catching gameplay, right back to the Pokémon main series RPGs,” said Game Freak director Junichi Masuda.

Pokémon: Let’s Go will arrive for the Nintendo Switch on 16th November.
