Rocksteady wasn’t ready yet to show off its new game at E3

June 14, 2018 by Ricky Church

As the gaming expo E3 closes today, many fans have noticed the absence of developer Rocksteady Studios at this year’s event. Over the past weekend rumours began that said Rocksteady would show off their next game, believed to be centered around DC’s iconic Man of Steel, Superman, but their absence proves the rumours false.

Rocksteady co-founder Sefton Hill released a statement via his Twitter page about the news, saying: “We know some of you were disappointed that we were not at E3 this year. The whole team has been reading your comments, and all of us here at Rocksteady really appreciate your passion for our next project. Knowing how much it means to you keeps us inspired and energised to deliver a game that you will be proud of. We’ll share it with you as soon as it’s ready.”

Rocksteady previously made the Batman: Arkham series, beginning with Arkham Asylum and continuing with Arkham City and Arkham Knight, though Montreal Studios developed the prequel Batman: Arkham Origins. Though no official word has ever been given, rumours and fan theories have speculated that Rocksteady has been developing a Superman game in the same vein as the Arkham game or a game focusing on the Justice League.

Hopefully we’ll hear some news regarding Rocksteady’s next game soon and cross our fingers that they’ll take us to Metropolis next.
