SPOILERS: Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp cast list reveals surprise villain

June 23, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Warning. Spoilers follow…

Ant-Man and the Wasp director Peyton Reed has previously teased that Hannah John-Kamen’s The Ghost may not be the only villain that Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang and Evangeline Lilly’s Hope Van Dyne find themselves going up against in the upcoming Marvel sequel, and the official cast list seems to indicate that is indeed the case.

In the above cast list, you’ll notice that Michael Cerveris (Gotham, The Tick) is listed as portraying Elihas Starr, a.k.a. Egghead, who in the comic books is one of Ant-Man’s oldest foes and is a mad genius obsessed with discovering the secrets behind Hank Pym’s technology (the character’s appearance was predicted by our own George Chrysostomou in his recent article ‘5 Ant-Man Oddities That Could Pop Up in Ant-Man and the Wasp‘).

Meanwhile, the cast list also seems to confirm that The Ghost – a.k.a. Ava – will have some history with Hank Pym, Janet Van Dyne, Bill Foster and Hope, with young versions of all of the characters cast for what will presumably be flashback scenes.

From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes Ant-Man and The Wasp, a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink. In the aftermath of Captain America: Civil War, Scott Lang grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a super hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside the Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from the past.

Ant-Man and The Wasp sees Peyton Reed returning to the director’s chair and stars Paul Rudd (Scott Lang), Evangeline Lilly (Hope Van Dyne), Michael Douglas (Hank Pym), Michael Pena (Luis), David Dastmalchian (Kurt), Abby Ryder Fortson (Cassie Lang), Judy Greer (Maggie), Bobby Cannavale (Paxton) and T.I. (Dave), while new additions to the cast include Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet Van Dyne, Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Bill Foster/Goliath, Hannah John-Kamen as The Ghost, Walton Goggins as Sonny Burch and Randall Park as Jimmy Woo.
