Numan Acar joins Spider-Man: Far From Home, may be portraying The Chameleon

July 18, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that Numan Acar (Homeland) has joined the cast of Spider-Man: Far From Home, Marvel and Sony’s follow-up to last year’s hit reboot Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Acar is said to be portraying a character called Dimitri, which has sparked speculation that he could be playing Dmitri Smerdyakov, a.k.a. The Chameleon (a character who has previously been rumoured as a potential villain, and one who director Jon Watts described as “cool” when asked about the possibility of him appearing in the sequel).

Acar joins fellow new additions J.B. Smoove (Uncle Drew) and Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler), with the latter set to portray the main antagonist Mysterio. Reprising their roles from Homecoming are Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Marisa Tomei (Aunt May), Michael Keaton (The Vulture), Zendaya (Michelle) and Jacob Batalon (Ned).
