Having steered the Marvel Cinematic Universe to become the biggest movie franchise in history in just ten short years, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige is set to be honoured with the David O. Selznick Award during the 30th annual Producers Guild of America Awards this coming January.
“To join so many of my heroes and mentors in receiving the David O. Selznick Award is one of the most meaningful experiences of my career, and I’m truly thankful to my colleagues in the Producers Guild of America for this recognition,” said Feige. “I want to also thank my Marvel Studios family, who have been with me every step of the way and without whom I would never have had this amazing journey.”
Beginning his film career as an associate producer on the likes of Blade, X-Men and Spider-Man, Feige was named president of Marvel Studios in 2007, just one year before the launch of the MCU with Iron Man, and in the years following he has seen the franchise become a box office juggernaut with almost $17.5 billion in receipts across 20 movies.
