Michael Caine joins Ben Foster in Medieval

September 9, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Last month it was announced that Ben Foster (Hell or High Water) is set to lead the cast of director Petr Jakl’s (Ghoul) action drama Medieval, and now Deadline has revealed that screen legend Michael Caine has signed on to the project.

The film will see Foster as the legendary 15th century Czech warlord and national hero Jan Zizka of Trocnov, while Caine will play Lord Boresh, the right hand to the Czech King Wenceslaus IV.

“It’s been a dream of mine to make film with Michael Caine since I first started working in the business,” said producer Cassian Elwes (Mudbound). “Now this dream has come true and I couldn’t be more excited. He’s a living legend.”

Caine will be seen this month in the British crime caper King of Thieves, where he stars alongside Jim Broadbent, Tom Courtenay, Charlie Cox, Paul Whitehouse, Michael Gambon and Ray Winstone. Read our review here.
