Todd Phillips shares first look at Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker

Director Todd Phillips has taken to Instagram to unveil a first-look image of Joaquin Phoenix from the upcoming DC Films standalone movie Joker, which shows Phoenix as the pre-Clown Prince of Crime ‘Arthur’.

Given that Phillips has confirmed The Joker’s real name as Arthur, it appears to confirm the previously rumoured plot details, which revealed that the iconic villain was called Arthur Fleck. You can read the rest of the rumoured plot details here, but beware of spoilers.

Joker is slated for release on October 4th 2019 and will see Todd Phillips (The Hangover) directing Joaquin Phoenix (You Were Never Really Here) as the Clown Prince of Crime alongside a cast that also includes Zazie Beetz (Deadpool 2), Robert De Niro (Goodfellas), Frances Conroy (American Horror Story) and Marc Meron (GLOW).
