It’s time to cross the Andes in the latest DLC for Railway Empire

October 20, 2018 by Andrew Newton

The railway tycoons among you who enjoy Kalypso Media’s Railway Empire have a new exciting adventure to experience in the new Crossing the Andes DLC expansion.  This new DLC will take players to the depths of South America where new resources, unforgiving terrain and new scenarios provide an extreme challenge.  See more of the DLC in the trailer below…

Crossing the Andes takes railway tycoons down to South America and provides a brand new ‘South America’ map that can be used with Free Game and Sandbox modes.  Taking on the Andes challenge is no small feat as huge mountains and relentless jungle will stand in your way, however, exotic new resources are ripe for the picking by those up to the challenge.  There are more than ten new resources and goods available to transport and include llama wool and guano.

In this new map there are 34 new cities to discover and serve with your railway, plus there are two new engines to help run your expanding rail network – the Kitson-Meyer (0-8-6-0) and the Garratt (2-6-0-0-6-2).

Crossing the Andes is expanding Railway Empire, a railroad tycoon game available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Take on new journeys in the depths of South America in the early 20th century, where a hoard of exotic new resources are ripe for the picking and plans for crossing the Andes by train are drawing attention from investors far and wide. Unforgiving mountains and relentless jungle terrains will make this challenge a tough one for even the most experienced tycoons. Railway Empire – Crossing the Andes contains 3 new scenarios, covering the early history of railway pioneers in the Andes and adds the map expansion ‘South America’ to free game and sandbox modes. There are more than 10 new goods, including llama wool and guano, as well as 34 new cities to discover. Two new engines (the Kitson-Meyer 0-8-6-0 and Garratt 2-6-0-0-6-2) will also further enhance your railway business. Plus, it includes the night mode granting you to experience the game in a new ‘light’.

The Crossing the Andes DLC is available now on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
