Deadline is reporting that Warner Bros. has picked up the screen rights to FKA USA, an upcoming dystopian sci-fi novel from Reed King, which is set for publication next year.
FKA USA takes place in a future where the Fifty States have seceded in the wake of environmental disasters and the catastrophic policies of its final president. It follows four characters – “a factory worker in Crunchtown 407 (formerly Little Rock, Arkansas), a talking goat, an android who wants to be human, and a former convict lobotomized in Texas – who are unexpectedly entrusted with a sensitive political mission on which the fate of the world may just depend.”
FKA USA is to be produced by Andrew Lazar (American Sniper). As yet, no talent is attached.
