Avengers directors the Russos would work with Marvel again in “any capacity”

December 12, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Anthony and Joe Russo, the directors of the upcoming Avengers: Endgame, say they will work with Marvel again in “any capacity”.

After directing Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame pretty much back to back, one might think that the Russos have had enough of Marvel. However, the two directors want to come back for more, expressing their love for the company.

Speaking to Business Insider (via ComicBook.com) in a recent interview, Joe Russo said: “We love Marvel, we’ve had an incredible experience with them. It’s why we’ve made four movies in six years with them. They’re like family to us. I think they do a great job of separating ‘church and state,’ where we’re focused on the projects we’re focused on, and someone else will focus on those other projects. We’d work with them in any capacity moving forward, and we value as much as anything in our work life the quality of the people we’re around and quality of the life that we have when we’re working with those people, and that’s A++ when you’re working with Marvel.”

Well, it sounds like we can look forward to plenty more Marvel films directed by the Russo brothers, especially considering the monstrous success of the movies they have directed so far — something that is unlikely to change with Avengers: Endgame.

Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Josh Brolin (Thanos), Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), Paul Rudd (Scott Lang), Don Cheadle (War Machine), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Paul Bettany (Vision), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Benedict Wong (Wong), Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax), Bradley Cooper (Rocket), Vin Diesel (Groot), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Gwyneth Paltrow (Pepper Potts), Evangeline Lilly (The Wasp), Letitia Wright (Shuri), Jon Favreau (Happy Hogan), Tilda Swinton (The Ancient One) and Frank Grillo (Crossbones), as well as Hiroyuki Sanada (The Wolvervine) and Katherine Langford (13 Reasons Why).
