Anya Taylor-Joy to lead Edgar Wright’s psychological thriller Last Night in Soho

February 5, 2019 by Ricky Church

Edgar Wright has found one of his lead stars for his next film. Variety reports Anya Taylor-Joy (Split) will star in Wright’s psychological thriller which has now been given the title Last Night in Soho.

Plot details are currently scarce with the only bit of information being Last Night in Soho is a psychological horror-thriller that will be influenced by Nicholas Roeg’s Don’t Look Now and Roman Polanski’s Repulsion. Wright co-wrote the script with Krysty Wilson-Cairns (Penny Dreadful) and previously spoke to Empire about the film’s inspiration.

“I realised I had never made a film about central London – specifically Soho, somewhere I’ve spent a huge amount of time in the last 25 years,” Wright said. “With Hot Fuzz and Shaun Of The Dead you make movies about places you’ve lived in. This movie is about the London I’ve existed in.”

Anya Taylor-Joy can currently be seen in Glass, M. Night Shyamalan’s sequel to Unbreakable and Split. She also has a starring role in Fox’s X-Men spin-off, The New Mutants.

Last Night in Soho will begin production this summer.
