Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will use James Gunn’s script, confirms Chris Pratt

February 9, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Marvel’s plans for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 may have hit a major stumbling block last year with the departure of director James Gunn, but Chris Pratt reassured fans earlier this week that the film is still happening, and now the Star-Lord actor has confirmed to MTV that the plan remains to use Gunn’s script for the third instalment in the superhero space opera series.

“Yeah, it’s off the chain, it’s so good, it’s so good,” said Pratt with regards to Gunn’s Guardians Vol. 3 script. “I love James and I’m loyal to James and I love him so much. We’re gonna deliver the movie, we’re gonna give the fans what they deserve. And I think it’s in the nature of the Guardians of the Galaxy to come together and get the job done. And that’s what we’ll do.”

While Gunn has since moved over to the DC Extended Universe, signing on to write and direct The Suicide Squad for Warner Bros., Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 remains without a director, with several potential candidates – including Bumblebee’s Travis Knight and Thor: Ragnarok’s Taika Waititi – recently playing down speculation linking them to the job.
