The Walking Dead: David Morrissey doesn’t feel finished with The Governor

February 27, 2019 by Samuel Brace

David Morrissey, who once played the villain The Governor on The Walking Dead, says that he would be interested in returning to the show as he doesn’t feel finished with the character.

The Walking Dead has provided some pretty memorable villains over the years and one of the very best was certainly David Morrissey’s The Governor, a complex maniac who once terrorized Rick and his people.

Morrissey’s character met his demise in season four but the actor has revealed to Red Carpet News TV that he would be interested in returning in some capacity with his nuanced take on the villain:

“I’ve often said I’d make the tea for them if they asked me because it was a wonderful experience, and it’s a show made by fantastic people, really talented people. And you want to work with those people.

“As I say, I love the world, I love the genre, I love the character, so if the powers that be deemed it right to do it, I would love to. Sometimes you walk away from a job, you think, ‘I’m finished with that character.’ Whereas the Governor, I don’t feel that. I think there’s a lot more to mine, really.”
