The Batman rumoured to have four or more villains

March 4, 2019 by Gary Collinson

After a couple of years of intense rumour and speculation, we finally got confirmation last month that The Batman is moving ahead for release in 2021, and that Ben Affleck has hung up the cape and cowl, with director Matt Reeves set to cast a new actor as his Dark Knight.

While the official confirmation was certainly welcome, it hasn’t slowed down the rumour mill, which is now turning its attention to the members of the Rogues Gallery set to appear in the film.

According to Mark Hughes of Forbes, “The Batman is peppered with multiple villains, not just one or two. I know about three of them for sure and there are others filling in Gotham’s population in cameo/supporting roles.”

This claim was then supported by Batman-on-Film, which added that “there are at least four” villains who’ll be making an appearance in the movie.

Superhero movies have often struggled when overstuffing villains, but that’s not always the case, and its always possible that some may have very minor roles (i.e. Victor Zsasz in Batman Begins), or will be used to plant seeds for future movies – assuming of course that the above information is legit.

What do you make of this rumour? Which villains are you hoping to see in The Batman? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below or tweet us @FlickeringMyth…
