Get ready for a bigger helping of The Walking Dead this Sunday, as AMC has announced that the penultimate episode of season nine, ‘The Calm Before’, will air between 9pm and 10.25pm EST, clocking in at 57 minutes without commercial breaks.
The episode takes place during a fair at the Kingdom, with the Kingdom, Hilltop, Alexandria and Ocean Side all in attendance, and it is expected that the episode will adapt one of the comic book’s most brutal moments as the Whisperers deliver a gruesome message to the other survivors.
The official synopsis for ‘The Calm Before’ reads: “The fair at the Kingdom is underway, with all four communities coming together in celebration for the first time in years; while some pacts are renewed, other deals will come at a much steeper price.”

The Walking Dead season 9 airs on Sundays in the US and on Mondays in the UK.
