Tom Holland wasn’t given the Avengers: Endgame script because he has difficulty “keeping his mouth shut”

April 3, 2019 by Samuel Brace

The directors of Avengers: Endgame, Joe and Anthony Russo, say that Tom Holland wasn’t given the script because he has a difficult time “keeping his mouth shut.”

When it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, everyone wants some spoilers for the upcoming entries into the franchise, particularly regarding Avengers: Endgame. Tom Holland (Spider-Man) is known for not being able to keep MCU secrets and so is often a target of those seeking inside information.

Directors of Endgame, Joe and Anthony Russo, looked to put a stop to this, however, by not giving the actor a script, with Joe telling ComicBook.com that this action had to be taken because of Holland’s big mouth:

“Yeah, Tom Holland does not get the script. Tom Holland gets his lines and that’s it. He doesn’t even know who he’s acting opposite of. We’ll just, we use like very vague terms to describe to him what is happening in the scene, because he has a very difficult time keeping his mouth shut.”

It shows how important it is to the directors that nothing about their film is leaked to the public and what a problem Holland is for them in this regard. There’s not long left now until Endgame‘s release so hopefully, the film will remain unspoiled until then.
