Gal Gadot turned down a role in Man of Steel

September 17, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Next year Gal Gadot is set to give a big screen debut to the iconic DC character of Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but speaking to Xnet (via Batman-News), the Israeli actress has revealed she could have joined the DC universe sooner, having been offered a role in 2013’s Man of Steel.

“When I was a month pregnant with [my daughter] Alma, I got an offer to be the evil Superman character. If I wasn’t pregnant I’d have taken the job, and there’s no way they would have taken me now to be Wonder Woman.”

Judging by Gadot’s comments, the “evil Superman character” must surely have been Faora, the Kryptonian villain played by Antje Traue.

Gal Gadot will make her debut as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which opens on March 25th 2016, before reprising the role in 2017 for Wonder Woman and Justice League Part One.
