Xbox Games with Gold for May 2019 announced

April 30, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Finally, after almost thinking an announcement wouldn’t arrive, Xbox has revealed the line up of the Games with Gold for May.

Throughout May on the Xbox One players can join friends with Marooner, a mix of 25 fun party games with quirky characters and even quirkier weapons.  In Marooner players can join up to 5 friends, either on the couch or online, and hunt for treasure through the chaotic action of different mini games, or they can take on the challenge of completing a full play through of each minigame.  If your friends kill you off in the action don’t worry, just come back as a ghost and haunt them.

The latter half of May will bring players The Golf Club 2019 featuring PGA TOUR.  Golf isn’t to everyone’s taste but this promises to please for its accuracy and playability thanks to the officially licensed PGA TOUR Career mode, a variety of famous courses including TPC Boston and TPC Sawgrass plus a set of PGA events such as the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, the John Deere Classic and the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

The first half of May for Xbox 360 will see players get the rather excellent Earth Defence Force: Insect Armageddon.  This hardcore shooter will have players turning city blocks into rubble to stop thousands of giant insects from taking over the world and dooming humanity.

Last but not least is Comic Jumper, a mostly shooter that will see players take the role of Captain Smiley as he jumps from comic to comic to rebuild his reputation after his own comic book series was cancelled.  Sporting duel pistols, Captain Smiley will fight his way through a Conan the Barabarian style comic through to a manga comic.

May’s upcoming games has received a lot of criticism on social media with many saying it’s a poor crop of games to offer considering the recent price increase announcement, but what do you think? Share your thoughts in the comments below or on our Twitter @FMyth_Gaming.
