Morten Tyldum to direct Agatha Christie adaptation And Then There Were None

September 27, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

Deadline is reporting that 20th Century Fox has acquired the rights to the classic Agatha Christie novel And Then There Were None, and has set Morten Tyldum to helm the adaptation.

Tyldum, who was Oscar nominated for his work on The Imitation Game, is to work alongside Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps production company on the project. Eric Heisserer (A Nightmare on Elm Street) has been hired to adapt the 1939 story, which has sold over 100 million copies to become the best-selling mystery novel of all time.

The novel tells the story of “10 strangers who are tempted to come to Soldier Island for different reasons. They soon realize they were brought there under false pretenses and are trapped, and are being bumped off one by one for crimes we learn they committed but were never punished for. They begin to realize that the killer is one of the 10.”

The film is set to be Tyldum’s next after he completes work on sci-fi Passengers, which stars Chris Pratt (Jurassic World) and Jennifer Lawrence (Joy) and is set for release on December 21st, 2016.
