Kevin Feige helped grant one of Tom Holland’s career wishes in Spider-Man: Far From Home

June 28, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, says that he helped make one of star Tom Holland’s career wishes come true.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is Tom Holland’s second solo outing as Peter Parker and the first MCU movie after Avengers: Endgame – so a big moment for sure. The movie was also big for Holland in another way, however.

Kevin Feige, head of Marvel Studios, has revealed at the premiere (via ComicBook.com) that he helped make one of Holland’s wishes come true by getting Jake Gyllenhaal to be in the movie:

“We really wanted to work with Jake for years and as often happens in the MCU, the perfect thing comes along at the perfect time and the perfect actor steps into the role and that’s what happened. We also knew Tom was a big fan of Jake and after we cast him, maybe on the first or second day of shooting Tom Holland came up to me and said ‘you know, last year I wrote sort of a wish list of everything I wanted to accomplish’, I think his manager said write down everything you want to accomplish, who you want to work with and that will help set your course as you pursue your career. And the first name he wrote on ‘who I want to work with’, and he showed it to me, Jake Gyllenhaal. And he didn’t tell us that until after they had already started working together.”

Holland was surely pretty pleased that things worked out as they did and it seems like the two actors had a fun time making the movie. Fingers crossed the results come across on screen.

Peter Parker returns in Spider-Man: Far From Home, the next chapter of the Spider-Man: Homecoming series! Our friendly neighborhood Super Hero decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. However, Peter’s plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks are quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks, creating havoc across the continent!

Spider-Man: Far From Home features the return of Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Marisa Tomei (Aunt May), Zendaya (Michelle), Jacob Batalon (Ned Leeds), Angourie Rice (Betty Brant), Tony Revolori (Flash Thompson), Martin Star (Mr. Harrington), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) and Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), with Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler) as Mysterio.
