The Icebrood Saga starts on Guild Wars 2 later this month

September 4, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Players of Guild Wars 2 will be facing a new threat this September as The Icebrood Saga, the latest collection of episodic content releases on the 17th starting with the prologue episode, Bound by Blood. In this new saga an ancient power begins to stir beneath the ice of the Far Shiverpeaks.  Watch the new trailer below…

The Icebrood Saga will be free for players who own Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire and will mark the beginning of a new adventure that sees players face the threat from the ancient force stirring from its slumber within the lands of the Northern Shiverpeaks.  The renegade cult of the Sons of Svanir have turned to worshipping the elder ice dragon Jormag and the stories of its great strength are spreading throughout the lands.

This new saga will introduce plenty of new features for gamers to enjoy, including epic 10 man boss encounters called Strike Missions, new boss creatures withing the environments of Grothmar Valley and the Northern Shiverpeaks such as the ominous, newly-awakened Drakkar, and new Masteries.

NCSOFT and ArenaNet have also revealed some new Guild Wars 2 related products including a 20th anniversary art book produced in collaboration with Dark Horse Comics and coming in spring 2020, Funk Pop figures of Aurene, Palawa Joko and Rytlock Brimstone and apparel from Hot Topic and Insert Coin plus much more.

The Icebrood Saga Prologue Episode arrives on 17th September.
