El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie to receive theatrical release, Matt Jones returning as Badger

September 18, 2019 by Ricky Church

Fans of Breaking Bad have more reason to look forward to it’s upcoming film El Camino as Netflix announced the continuation will be receiving a limited theatrical release.

From October 11 to October 13, El Camino will appear in a limited number of theatres at the same time it will be released on the streaming service. It will be available to watch on Netflix midnight October 11 and will later premiere on AMC, Breaking Bad’s home network.

In addition to this news, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that audiences will see another returning Breaking Bad face in the film. The first trailer revealed Charles Baker will reprise his role as smalltime drug dealer Skinny Pete, and joining him is Matt Jones as his fellow drug dealer and Star Trek fanfic writer Badger.

El Camino is set some time after the events of Breaking Bad‘s series finale after Jesse made his escape from the meth lab and Neo-Nazis in an El Camino. The film, which was written and directed by Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan, has the following synopsis: “In the wake of Jesse’s dramatic escape from captivity. He must come to terms with his past in order to forge some kind of future.”

El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie will premiere on October 11th.
