Filming gets underway on Marvel’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

November 2, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Marvel Studios has officially taken its first steps into the world of television, with showrunner Malcolm Spellman (Empire) announcing that production is now underway on the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

The series sees Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan reprising their roles as Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes respectively, and continues their story post-Avengers: Endgame. Which of course means no more Steve Rogers, and a new Captain America…

Also featuring in the cast of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier are returning MCU stars Emily VanCamp (Sharon Carter) and Daniel Bruhl (Helmut Zemo), while Wyatt Russell (Overlord) is set to take on the role of John Walker, a.k.a. U.S. Agent/Super Patriot.

The six episode series is set to air on Disney+ in the Fall of 2020, and is the first of eight Marvel shows announced for the platform alongside WandaVision, Loki, What If…?, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight and She-Hulk.
