Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon to start shooting in March

December 7, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Martin Scorsese is set to follow up The Irishman with another of his long-gestating projects, reuniting with his two frequent collaborators Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro for Killers of the Flower Moon, and now we have word that the project is set to begin filming in March 2020.

Based on David Grann’s bestselling book, Killers of the Flower Moon takes place in the 1920s and tells the story of one of the FBI’s first major investigations – the grisly murders of members of the Native American Osage Nation, whose land in Oklahoma sat above a large reserve of crude oil.

News of a March start date was revealed by cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto (The Wolf of Wall Street, Silence, The Irishman), who provided Collider with an update on his prep for the film:

“Right now I’m in the process of researching different ways of shooting it so we still have to actually meet, and I’ll show him images, propose ideas. He’ll probably have his thoughts too, but we still haven’t figured [out the tone of the film]. So, on the way.”

Scorsese’s latest film The Irishman is available to stream now on Netflix, and features a cast that includes  Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Joe Pesci, Bobby Cannavale, Ray Romano, Stephen Graham, Kathrine Narducci, and Anna Paquin.
