Indiana Jones 5 is definitely not a reboot, says Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy

February 4, 2020 by Samuel Brace

Kathleen Kennedy, the president of Lucasfilm, says that Indiana Jones 5 is definitely not going to be a reboot of the franchise.

While Star Wars is normally the first film property people think of when they hear the word Lucasfilm, the studio is also behind the beloved adventure franchise Indiana Jones. Fans are eagerly anticipating the fifth film in the series but with all of the delays and re-writes across the years, what should we expect?

Well, according to producer and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, Indiana Jones 5 isn’t going to reboot the franchise.

Speaking to the BBC on the BAFTA red carpet, Kennedy said: “We’re working away, getting the script where we want it to be, and then we’ll be ready to go. It’s not a reboot, it’s a continuation.”

So, there you have it. Fans can expect the next film in the franchise to simply continue the story, with Harrison Ford back for his fifth (and presumably final) outing as the archaeologist and adventurer. Hopefully, it won’t be too long before we hear some concrete details about the movie.
