All-female Ocean’s Eleven sequel/reboot/spin-off in development with Sandra Bullock; George Clooney could cameo

October 30, 2015 by admin

Following the positive response to Paul Feig’s all-female reboot of Ghostbusters, it looks like the world of Ocean’s Eleven could follow suit.

The Playlist are reporting that an all-female sequel/reboot/spin-off/remake is in development with Gary Ross (The Hunger Games) set to direct and Olivia Milch (Little Women) writing the script. At present, Sandra Bullock (Gravity) is rumoured to be the film’s lead. The film will also be produced by original trilogy director Steven Soderbergh and its star George Clooney, who may also cameo in the film at some point. According to the report, this movie has been in development for over a year now.

“It’s unclear how directly connected (or not) this remake/reboot/sequel/spinoff will be to the Soderbergh pictures, but everyone is keen on this new ‘Ocean’s’ project,” The Playist notes. “Sources tell us Clooney may even cameo as Danny Ocean.”

The first remake of Ocean’s Eleven, released in 2001 and made over $450 million worldwide and spawned two sequels that suffered from the law of diminishing returns in Ocean’s Twelve ($362 million) and Ocean’s Thirteen ($311 million).
