A Quiet Place Part II tracking projected $60 million opening weekend

February 28, 2020 by Matt Rodgers

You might have been wondering whether John Krasinski’s masterful A Quiet Place even needed a sequel, but with the marketing hinting that this could be the Aliens to his original surprise hit, Deadline is reporting that A Quiet Place Part II is on track to scare up a domestic opening of $60 million when it lands on March 20th.

This would top the $50.2 million North American opening weekend of the original, which went on to gross $340 million worldwide from a $17 million budget.

Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family (Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe) must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.

A Quiet Place Part II is set for release on March 20th and features returning cast members Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe and John Krasinski alongside Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders) and Djimon Hounsou (Captain Marvel).
