Bill Burr returning as mercenary Mayfield in The Mandalorian Season 2

March 27, 2020 by Ricky Church

The Mandalorian will be seeing the return of another antagonist to plague the title hero as Deadline reports Bill Burr will reprise his role as the mercenary for hire Mayfield in the upcoming second season.

Burr appeared in the sixth episode of The Mandalorian when Mando joined a group of mercenaries and bounty hunters for a job which Mayfield was also part of. However, the team ultimately betrayed Mando and tried to make him a scapegoat, but unfortunately for them he turned the tables and trapped them to be caught by New Republic authorities. With Burr returning for season two, it looks like Mayfield might be out for some payback.

The second season will see Michael Biehn (The Terminator) joining the cast as a bounty hunter while Rosario Dawson is reportedly set to play Star Wars: The Clone Wars breakout character Ahsoka Tano in the character’s live-action debut. Among the directors that we know of for the season, Robert Rodriguez (Sin City) has directed an episode alongside Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau and actor Carl Weathers, who also portrays Greef Karga in the series.

The Mandalorian will premiere its second season on Disney+ in October and will see Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers and Giancarlo Esposito returning to the cast.
