Charlie Cox responds to rumours of Daredevil appearing in Spider-Man 3

April 29, 2020 by Samuel Brace

Charlie Cox, who starred as Daredevil in the Netflix TV series, says that he isn’t involved with the MCU’s third Spider-Man film, despite the rumours.

At the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home, Peter finds himself in a pretty bad situation that could mean he will need some legal advice. Instantly fans were hoping this would mean Charlie Cox’s Daredevil would be introduced in the third film.

Rumours have circulated since that Daredevil would make an appearance but according to Cox, nothing is happening, at least not with him. Speaking to ComicBook.com, he said:

“I hadn’t heard those rumors, but it’s certainly not with my Daredevil. I’m not involved in it. If that’s true, it’s not with me. It’s with another actor.

“Look, I had a great time. I’m so grateful I got to play that character as long as I did. Of course, I’d love to keep going. I’d love to be involved with it.

“As a fan of the Marvel movies, I’ve loved the little stuff where they pop up here and there but because we were on Netflix, we weren’t able to do as much for legal reasons, I don’t know why. But I love the idea of Jessica and Matt showing up in the background or Matt as a lawyer advising Peter Parker. That’d be really, really cool.”

While Cox could be playing with us with these comments, he does seem to be genuinely out of the loop. It would be great to see him return to the character which brought him universal praise. Hopefully, Marvel can find a way to bring him back in some shape or form.

The as-yet untitled Spider-Man sequel will see Jon Watts returning to the director’s chair with Tom Holland (Peter Parker) and Zendaya (MJ) reprising their roles. It is set for release in cinemas on November 5th 2021.
