Amazon Studios acquires Nicolas Winding Refn’s The Neon Demon

Variety is reporting that Amazon Studios has acquired the distribution rights to Nicolas Winding Refn’s upcoming horror film The Neon Demon, and will release the film theatrically in the States in the summer of 2016.

The Neon Demon sees Elle Fanning (Maleficent) playing an “aspiring model who moves to Los Angeles, where her youth and vitality are devoured by a group of beauty-obsessed women who will take any means necessary to get what she has.”

Fanning is joined in the cast of the film by Jena Malone (Inherent Vice), Bella Heathcote (Dark Shadows), Desmond Harrington (Wrong Turn), Alessandro Nivola (Selma), Christina Hendricks (Drive), Abbey Lee (Mad Max: Fury Road) and Keanu Reeves (John Wick).
