Fans of Joss Whedon’s Justice League should still be excited for the Snyder Cut says J.K. Simmons

July 7, 2020 by Samuel Brace

J.K. Simmons, one of the stars of Justice League, says that even fans of the Joss Whedon version should look forward to the Snyder Cut.

Zack Snyder will have his chance to put out the movie he had originally intended with Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Fans are hoping it is an improvement on Joss Whedon’s theatrical version but what about fans who actually enjoyed Whedon’s take?

Well, Jim Gordon actor J.K. Simmons doesn’t think it will be a problem, telling THR that even those who loved the Whedon version should be interested in Snyder’s cut:

“There were obviously a variety of reasons for the way things shook out the first time around with that film. Whatever your feelings were about the version that was at first released, I think even if you absolutely loved everything about that film, I would certainly be interested as an audience to see Zack’s vision. The one thing I do know for sure is that it will be long, because he’s got a lot of stuff that he wants to get in there.”

Simmons is right, no matter what, this is going to be an interesting experiment. To put the two films side by side and see their differences will be a fascinating process. Hopefully, Snyder’s cut will live up tot he hype.

In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder and features Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta and Robin Wright as General Antiope, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, Amber Heard as Mera, Ciaran Hinds as Steppenwolf and Ray Porter as Darkseid.
