Lucifer Season 5 to resume production later this month, followed by Season 6 filming in October

September 4, 2020 by Liam Waddington

Earlier this year, it was announced that Netflix’s Lucifer was among the many films and TV shows that had to halt production due to the ongoing global health crisis, and now, it has been reported that filming is set to resume shortly.

According to TVLine, Lucifer will resume production on 24th September 2020, at which time it will finish up the 16th and final episode of Season 5 Part 2. Once filming on that season finale has wrapped, the production team will move directly into filming the sixth and final season of Lucifer – there is currently no confirmation on the episode count for the final season.

Lucifer Season 5 Part 1, which is now streaming on Netflix and consist of eight episodes, picks up with Lucifer Morningstar still ruling over Hell until his twin brother Michael emerges and begins to cause havoc for Lucifer’s life on Earth. There is currently no news on when Season 5 Part 2 will debut on Netflix.

Lucifer, bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals.

Lucifer is created by showrunners Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson and stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, Rachael Harris, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez, and Kevin Alejandro.
