How the Other Half Live: Inside Movie Star Homes

November 20, 2015 by Amie Cranswick

According to the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), house prices are set to rise by 6% in 2015 compared to last year. As a result, more and more people are looking at sites like Open Property Group to sell their homes. However, it is clear that celebrities have no such concerns. Here are some of the impressive houses owned by the rich and famous:

Leonardo DiCaprio

According to those in Leonardo DiCaprio’s inner circle, his ground floor New York apartment has two bedrooms and two bathrooms – nothing unusual there.

But his flat also uses purified air and water, vitamin C-emitting showers, posture-supporting heated reflexology flooring, and aromatherapy air supply. The luxury apartment also comes complete with “dawn simulation” provided by a hi-tech circadian lighting design.

With this in mind, you can see that the Hollywood star’s New York City pad isn’t just any old apartment.

Jennifer Lopez

Bronx-born and raised songstress Jennifer Lopez may still think of herself as ‘Jenny from the Block’. Yet her bachelorette pad in the Hamptons is anything but down to earth. In fact, the house set her back her back a cool $18million (£12 million)!

Its seven bedrooms (each with walk-in wardrobes), extravagant dining room, oak-panelled library, swimming pool and marble-heated floors make this home the height of luxury.

The Beckhams

Despite paying a reported £40 million for their huge house in West London, those close to David and Victoria say the house still needed work when they moved in. Now, this immense pad includes an underground tunnel to a super-sized garage for the ex-footballer’s array of luxury cars. The tunnel also provides access to and from another property which acts as home to staff.

Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie

After renting a period home for £30,000-a-month, Brangelina loved it so much that they decided to buy it! The cost? The 15th century Whornes Place set the couple back £6.5 million. So what does this amount of money buy you in an age of increasing demand and rising prices? Well, this house includes 15th century wooden beams, elephant-shaped hedges in the front garden and an indoor swimming pool.

Adele

After the phenomenal success of her second album, 21, Adele was finally able to move out of the home she shared with her mum. Her sprawling countryside mansion in Surrey is grade II-listed. It also comes with 10 bedrooms, tennis courts and two swimming pools. The price? £6 million!
