Rosario Dawson would love to return as Ahsoka for other Star Wars projects

December 3, 2020 by Samuel Brace

Rosario Dawson, who recently played Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian, says she would love to return as the character for other Star Wars projects.

Last week’s episode of The Mandalorian saw the live-action debut of Ahsoka Tano, played by Rosario Dawson. Previously the character had only been seen in animated form but now that she has made the transition, will we be seeing her again?

Well, Dawson certainly hopes so, telling StarWars.com that she would love to come back as Ahsoka for more Mandalorian and other projects:

“I mean, I would love that opportunity. I think it’s so cool that this show exists. I think it’s so cool that I got to show up and give information about this character, the Child, that everyone’s loved so much. You know, that she was not so much showing up as a cameo, but really being a storytelling device for new fans that have fallen in love with yet another new character that we’re getting to see grow. Little Grogu is just amazing.

“It’s interesting watching The Mandalorian, realizing you’re not seeing lightsabers, you’re not seeing a lot of what we love about Star Wars. It was really amazing to be able to have that gift of being able to bring that into this series and into this space, and I’m really grateful for that opportunity.”

Dawson’s comments here do make it seem like we won’t be seeing any more of Ahsoka in season two of The Mandalorian so fingers crossed Lucasfilm bring her back down the road in some capacity. It has already been reported that the actress signed a multi-series deal with Lucasfilm, which could potentially include a solo spinoff series.

The Mandalorian season two sees the returning Pedro Pascal (Din Djarin), Gina Carano (Cara Dune), Carl Weathers (Greef Karga), Giancarlo Esposito (Moff Gideon) and Bill Burr (Mayfield) joined by the likes of Temuera Morrison (Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones), Katee Sackhoff (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Timothy Olyphant (Justified), Michael Biehn (The Terminator), Rosario Dawson (Daredevil) and WWE Superstar Sasha Banks.

The Mandalorian season two airs on Fridays on Disney+.
