Gal Gadot confirms she wasn’t part of Zack Snyder’s Justice League reshoots

December 22, 2020 by Amie Cranswick

When it was originally announced back in September that Zack Snyder would be getting back behind the camera for a round of additional photography ahead of the HBO Max release of The Snyder Cut of Justice League, original reports named Wonder Woman 1984 star Gal Gadot as one of the cast members who’d be reuniting with the director for the reshoots.

However – as with Henry Cavill, whose commitments to Netflix’s The Witcher ruled him out of a Superman return – Gadot has now confirmed that she wasn’t part of the shoot, the actress telling MTV News that: “I didn’t shoot anything, I didn’t see anything, but I’m very much looking forward to Zack’s cut.”

Asked whether she ever anticipated the release of the Snyder Cut, Gadot responded: “You know, in this world now, I’m not surprised by anything. If someone would have told me a year ago, ‘You know, there’s gonna be a pandemic…’ Now, all bets are off. You know, now, I’m not surprised by anything. But I’m very happy for him that he got to do his own version of the movie.”

Gal Gadot recently spoke about her time on Justice League, and specifically the reshoots under Joss Whedon which have garnered so much attention lately due to allegations from Ray Fisher that the filmmaker was abusive on set, the star stating that she “had my own experience with [Whedon], which wasn’t the best one, but I took care of it there and when it happened”.

In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes-Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg, and The Flash-it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder and features Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, Robin Wright as General Antiope, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, Amber Heard as Mera, Ciaran Hinds as Steppenwolf, Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke, Jared Leto as The Joker and Ray Porter as Darkseid.
