Dexter revival series adds Spotlight actor Michael Cyril Creighton in recurring role

January 26, 2021 by Liam Waddington

With the serial killer drama Dexter set to make its return on Showtime for a limited series revival after eight years, there is yet more casting news on the latest season.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming limited series has enlisted Michael Cyril Creighton (Spotlight) who will appear in seven episodes as Fred Jr., the congenial owner of Fred’s Fish & Game, a shop he inherited from his father. He has grown up in Iron Lake and is a regular fixture around town that everybody knows and loves, whether it’s line dancing at the local tavern or singing in the choir. He’s married to Brian, the pastor of the small congregational church in town.

Michael Cyril Creighton will star alongside Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan with Clancy Brown as the primary villain Kurt Caldwell, the “unofficial mayor” of Iron Lake, as well as Julia Jones (The Mandalorian), Alano Miller (Sylvie’s Love), Johnny Sequoyah (Believe) and Jack Alcott (The Good Lord Bird).

Although there are currently no details on the plot of the revival series, we do know that Clyde Phillips is set to return as showrunner and executive producer with Marcos Siega, who previously directed nine episodes of the original series, set to return to executive produce and direct six of the 10-episodes in the limited series.
