Academy Award-nominated American actor Robert Loggia has passed away aged 85, having battled Alzheimer’s Disease for the past five years.
Beginning his career on television in the 1950s, the prolific supporting actor would earn a host of credits throughout his career, including notable roles in the likes of An Officer and a Gentlemen, Scarface, Prizzi’s Honor, Big, and Independence Day.
Loggia received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor in 1996 for Jagged Edge, as well as Emmy nominations for Mancuso FBI in 1989 and Malcolm in the Middle in 2000.
