Clarke Peters joins The Man Who Fell To Earth

March 31, 2021 by Ricky Church

More casting news has been announced Showtime’s sci-fi The Man Who Fell To Earth. Deadline reports that Clarke Peters (The Wire) has joined Chiwetel Ejiofor, Jimmi Simpson and Naomie Harris in the series.

The Man Who Fell To Earth follows “an alien who arrives on Earth at a turning point in human evolution and must confront his own past to determine our future.” The series is based on the novel by Walter Telvis as well as the 1976 cult film that starred David Bowie. Ejiofor will play the mysterious alien visitor.

Peters will play “Josiah Falls, patriarch of the Falls family, father of Justin Falls (Harris) and a gifted scientist and engineer whose surprising relationship with Ejiofor’s alien brings about the next step in human evolution.”

Star Trek: Discovery producers Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet co-writing and executive producing with Kurtzman also set to direct several episodes. Kurtzman and Lumet will showrun the series with John Hlavin, who is also serving as an executive producer with the pair. The Man Who Fell to Earth was previously set up for the Paramount+ streaming service, but was recently moved to Showtime instead.
