Netflix’s Castlevania to end with season 4, first teaser released

April 16, 2021 by EJ Moreno

Castlevania, the Netflix anime series that won over fans with its brutality and camp, will come to a close in season four – although it does seem like Netflix will likely expand on this universe with a spinoff show set in the same universe.

Along with the announcement of the final season, the horror-inspired anime series – based on the hit video game series of the same name – showcased its first teaser for season four via its social media platforms. While not offering up any footage from the upcoming season, we hear ominous voiceovers from beloved characters as we see a map of various locations the series has featured. Check out the teaser here…

Netflix’s Castlevania was created by Warren Ellis, an author and noted comic book writer. During the summer of 2020, as Ellis turned in the scripts for season four of the series, he was hit with sexual misconduct allegations. Though Ellis has vehemently denied these claims, he still separated from the series. Deadline notes that “he has had no further involvement” with the Castlevania and has not been approached concerning the upcoming spin-off series.

The fourth and final season of Castlevania will premiere on May 13th. The voice cast includes Graham McTavish, Richard Armitage, James Callis, Emily Swallow, Matt Frewer, Tony Amendola, and Alejandra Reynoso.
