Spaceships and green screen feature in first set photos from Star Wars: Rogue Squadron

April 21, 2021 by Matt Rodgers

Back in December Patty Jenkins, the first woman ever to helm a big-screen adventure set in a galaxy far, far away, revealed that Star Wars: Rogue Squadron was quite far into development. Well, the Wonder Woman director wasn’t kidding, because these first photos from the set in Essex have emerged via the Daily Mail, showing plenty of green screen and banged up spaceships ready to dogfight amongst the stars.

Looking a little like the Jakku junkyard overseen by Unkar Plutt in The Force Awakens, the set features a range of different sized spaceships in various stages of construction, all ready to be raised against the green-screen for the wizards at ILM to work their magic.

Unveiled alongside a flurry of Star Wars related content during Disney’s Investor conference last Christmas, Rogue Squadron is set for release on December 22nd, 2023. The full set of photos can be seen here.
