World of Warships: Legends September update adds Soviet Destroyers and four new Transformers

September 1, 2021 by Andrew Newton

September’s update for World of Warships: Legends brings plenty of new ships for those who like variety, a new Soviet campaign with the grand prize being the Tier VII Premium Cruiser Pyotr Bagration and a new Transformers collaboration with four new Transformers taking to the seas.

The new Soviet campaign, titled Order and Discipline, will have players completing 100 milestones over a five week period with rewards ranging from boosters and camouflages to commander chests and the ultimate prize of the Tier VII Heavy Cruiser Pyotr Bagration, providing you have the premium Admiralty Backing.  Don’t be fooled by the vessel’s cumbersome appearance as it is surprisingly fast, it also comes with easy to use artillery and plenty of AA guns to keep it safe from aerial attack.

Last year’s Transformers event was very popular among gamers and now, celebrating the 35th anniversary of the iconic animated film, Transformers makes a comeback to World of Warships: Legends.  From 6th September, four new characters will enter the battle with Autobots taking to Allied ships and Decepticons on the Axis side.  These newcomers to naval warfare are:

  • Grimlock with the “King of Primitives” skin for the French battleship Richelieu – This scary-looking Dinobot is all about improving your Battleship’s secondary caliber guns.

  • Hot Rod with the “Hot Racer” skin for British cruiser Edinburgh – Improved Radar, make being spotted by planes more difficult.

  • Soundwave with the “Superior” skin for Italian cruiser Amalfi – Better maneuverability and better smoke screens, great choice for Italian cruisers.

  • Starscream with the “Lord of the Seekers” skin for German aircraft carrier August Von Parseval – Faster aircraft with bigger health pool.

These vessels will have permanent thematic camouflage that will be visible in port and also have commanders with unique voiceovers.

Until the 6th September, players can get last year’s Transformers content; Optimus Prime, Bumble Bee, Megatron and Rumble, if they missed out last year.

The Soviet fleet is expanding as three Soviet destroyers Soobrazitelny, Boevoi and Kiev, arrive in Early Access.  Available from dedicated crates, these are an alternate line of Soviet destroyers that will pave the way for next update’s Tier VII Udaloi.

This update also brings three new Arena seasons on 9th September for those wanting to battle in Tiers V-VII.  The Arms Races mechanic will be active for all three seasons and is an effective way to spice up battle.  There’s lots of rewards available depending on placement.

Get ready for a September full of action and high-seas battles in World of Warships Legends.
