With a new Hellraiser film currently in production from director David Bruckner, the filmmaker behind The Ritual and The Night House, writer and producer David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight) has provided an update on the project.
In an interview with Collider, Goyer not only confirmed that the film is currently filming right now and also stated that it is going for an R-rating. He continued to explain that the film is setting out to honour the work of Clive Barker.
“I will say that we went back to the original novella for the source material, we’re really honoring Clive’s work. I can say that David Bruckner is a genius. It’s filming right now. The footage is terrifying and amazing, and the Cenobites are jaw-dropping.”

In addition to the upcoming Hellraiser movie, there is also a planned HBO TV series from David Gordon Green (Halloween Kills) and the original novella writer Clive Barker.
